Andy Cole praised Liverpool-owned Southampton attacking player Takumi Minamino on talkSPORT (6:12pm, February 7, 2021) for his goal against Newcastle United.
The former Manchester United striker was impressed by Minamino’s strike for Southampton in their Premier League game against Newcastle at the weekend.
The 26-year-old – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – scored on the half-hour mark with a wonderful effort from inside the penalty box.
It was the Japan international’s debut for the Saints following a loan move from Liverpool in the January transfer window.
Cole said about Minamino on talkSPORT (6:12pm, February 7, 2021): “A really good goal, real good finish, a good loan for Southampton, puts his left foot through, and he has got a real nice left foot as well, puts it in the top bin.”

Making an impact
Minamino will hope to make an impact at Southampton during his loan spell, and will hope to return to Liverpool a better player and with more confidence.
The Japan international could not make an impact at the Reds and struggled for playing time.
The 26-year-old has started his spell at Southampton on a positive note, and he will hope to score a few more goals and show what he is capable of in the coming weeks and months. There is still a future for the Japanese attacking player at Liverpool.
