Everton’s Andre Gomes faces West Ham United this weekend.

Everton host West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, and Marco Silva is in desperate need of a result after five defeats in the last six games.
Silva has lost his last four games now, and needs a victory against West Ham to ease some of the pressure on him, with some fans calling for him to be sacked.
Silva will be hoping for a midfield boost given that both Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph are set to miss out, with Andre Gomes hoping to play again.
The 26-year-old has been missing with a rib injury sustained last month, and managed six minutes in the last game against Burnley as he looks to ramp up his return.
Gomes hasn’t particularly impressed so far this season, with his performance against Aston Villa particularly slammed, branding him ‘absolutely shocking’ in that game.
He will now hope to get his season started against West Ham, which is somewhat ironic given that he rejected a move to the Hammers over the summer, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Gomes instead chose to hold out for a move to Everton having spent last season on loan there from Barcelona, and it’s fair to say West Ham won’t feel they’ve really missed out so far – especially given his £112,000-a-week wages at Goodison Park (Spotrac).

Gomes has struggled for form and fitness so far this season, and given their performances this term, it’s hard to imagine he’d have dislodged either Declan Rice or Mark Noble from this West Ham side.
West Ham instead went for the youngster Pablo Fornals, bringing him on gradually whilst Gomes desperately seeks to get back to his best this season.
Gomes will be hoping to prove that his decision was right, but as things stand, West Ham will feel that they may have had a lucky escape, with Gomes yet to show the quality from last season.
