One American has now decided that Portugal is going to win the 2026 World Cup based on the Super Bowl conspiracy.

At the start of each season, the NFL releases a custom Super Bowl logo, which some fans believe shows who will compete in the event due to the colour scheme.

Well, that same logic is now being applied to the World Cup, with one woman claiming that the colour schemes of the last three World Cup logos showed who would win, and that Portugal will be champions this year.

World Cup logo conspiracy theory suggests Portugal will win the final

In a video being shared on X/Twitter, she stated: “I can tell you exactly who’s going to win this year’s World Cup just by looking at the logo.

“We all know the Super Bowl conspiracy, every year they give us the Super Bowl logo at the beginning of the year, and the colours from that logo happen to be the colours of both teams that end up playing in the Super Bowl.

“We all know there’s a script for the NFL, well, FIFA has a script too.”

She goes on to explain how the World Cup logo from the last three years has lined up with the winners of each tournament.

When it comes to the 2026 World Cup, she continued: “This year’s colours: green, blue, red and then two shades of grey.

“My first thought, an underdog team, Morocco. However, they are missing the blue.

“I think the more obvious option is Portugal. You might be thinking, well, Portugal is red and green, but they also don’t have the blue. I challenge you to zoom in on their flag, those dice-looking things, which I’m not sure what they are, they are not black, they are navy blue.

“So if you believe in conspiracy theories, or I don’t know, facts, Portugal is winning the World Cup.”

Who are the World Cup favourites?

While Portugal are the favourites if you believe the conspiracy, Opta’s supercomputer does not think they are the most likely winner.

Instead, their predictor, which is updated after each match, gives France the highest chance of becoming World Cup holders (14.92%).

Argentina then take second place (14.47%), followed by Spain (12.74%) and then England (9.07%).

Portugal, meanwhile, only have a 6.54% chance of winning the World Cup in North America.
