Pau Torres has told Sport that he is not thinking about his future, amid reported interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
Sport has reported interest in the Villarreal central defender from Arsenal among other clubs.
Manchester United and Manchester City are also named in the report as clubs who want to secure the services of the 24-year-old this summer.
The Daily Mail reported in March 2021 that Torres is a player Liverpool are looking to sign in the summer of 2021, as covered by HITC Sport.
Torres told Sport, as transcribed by The Mirror: “It’s a pride to see that your work is reflected in these kind of things that are talked about. But I face it with a lot of calm, I’m in a great club like Villarreal, and from the tranquillity, I work every day.
“I’m not thinking about that (taking a step forward) either, there’s still a long way to go, and my short-term objectives are the European semi-final and then to be available for the national team.”

Do Liverpool or Arsenal need Pau Torres?
Torres is a very good central defender who is rated highly by his Villarreal manager Unai Emery.
The former Arsenal boss described the 24-year-old Spain international central defender as “an amazing player” in Football.London in January 2021.
The 24-year-old can only get better, and while he would make Arsenal and Liverpool better, one has to ask whether the Gunners or the Reds actually need him.
David Luiz could leave Arsenal when his contract runs out in the summer, but manager Mikel Arteta will still have Gabriel, Rob Holding, Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari, while William Saliba and Konstantinos Mavropanos will return from loan.
Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip will be back from injury next season, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will also have Ben Davies and Nathaniel Phillips, while Ozan Kabak’s loan deal could be made permanent.
