All the latest West Ham United news…
Davide Santon
Good news to start off for West Ham United fans as ESPN are reporting that the club are close to agreeing a deal to sign Inter Milan full-back Davide Santon on a season-long loan, with an option to buy for £5 million next summer.
The 25-year-old former Newcastle United defender can play in both left and right-back positions, so his versatility will be a great asset for the Hammers should a move come to fruition.
The Daily Mail claim that the East London club have dropped their interest in Norwich City’s Martin Olson, as a direct result of their pursuit of Santon.
Mario Gomez is not wanted by West ham according to a Besiktas official
Meanwhile, Besiktas spokesman Metin Albayrak has revealed that West Ham are not interested in signing Mario Gomez, as quoted by Calcio Mercato.
“This morning I spoke on the phone with Slaven Bilic, who assured me that West Ham United is not interested (in Gomez),” he said.
Diafra Sakho
In other news, HITC Sport understands that Sunderland have emerged as a surprise contender in the race to sign Hammers striker Diafra Sakho and are attempting to hijack West Bromwich Albion’s move for the player.
And finally, after West Ham’s protracted pursuit of AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca throughout the course of the summer, CorriereDelloSport are reporting that the Italian giants have given the Colombian a deadline of Sunday to decide on his future.
With the Hammers still short in forward areas, despite the expected signing of Jonathan Calleri, should they make another move for Bacca?
