Sunderland boss David Moyes is trying to hijack West Brom’s move for Diafra Sakho, HITC Sport understands.
The Baggies have been working hard to finalise a deal for the Senegal striker, after they agreed a £15million fee with West Ham United last week.
The player has also finalised personal terms at The Hawthorns and is now due to undergo a medical with the club.

However, the North East club are in contact with West Ham and despite leaving it very late could try and upset West Brom with a late move for the player.
Moyes has joined Sunderland late in pre-season and is playing catch-up, but he has already identified half-a-dozen pressing targets for the club and HITC Sport understands one of those is Sakho – who could yet be persuaded to move to the Stadium of Light instead.

West Brom, for their part, will be looking to push through the Sakho deal in the next few hours to try and see off their Premier League rivals.
Sakho joined West Ham from Metz in the summer of 2014 and has bagged 15 goals for the club since signing, but he has been looking to move after learning of The Hammers’ desire to bring in a new front-man of their own.
