Alan Brazil has questioned if Harry Kane could leave Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer at the end of next season and join Pep Guardiola’s all-dominant Manchester City, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (15/03/23).

The former Scotland striker claimed that record-breaking striker Erling Haaland might end up at Real Madrid in over 12 months’ time and, as a result, it opens the door for Kane to get a move he desired a number of years ago.

Tottenham have a big call to make with their star striker in the summer because of his delicate contract situation and how he is seemingly in the driving seat.

Kane is, either sold in the summer, or if he doesn’t sign a new contract and stays on, then he can leave for nothing during the summer of 2024.

Given the ridiculous amount of money Daniel Levy could have gotten for the 29-year-old and might still get, that’s a big financial risk, to let him head out of Hotspur Way for nothing.

But Alan Brazil can seemingly see it happening, as he put forward the suggestion of a move to the Etihad still being on the cards.

“Would Spurs be right to hang onto Harry Kane, even if he then leaves for free,” asked Brazil. “This is the big question. That’s what we are hearing.

“If he doesn’t sign the contract, just sits it out, then he goes for free.

“Am I out of order just looking ahead thinking ‘what if Haaland went to Real Madrid at the end of the year and Harry went to Manchester City(for free)? Money, money, money.”

KANE SHOULD LOOK TO LEAVE

The problem with Tottenham is that, not even those inside probably know who the club’s manager will be in the summer.

Even though Kane has given so much to the club, he should have been treated a lot better by the likes of Daniel Levy.

Tottenham have been in some very strong positions over the years, thanks to Kane, but they haven’t pushed the boat out and that’s where he has deserved more, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he does leave, either this summer or the next.
