Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud was keen to mention that he is ‘also watching my Gooners’ after he was asked to share his thoughts on Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel’s recent sacking.
A Sky journalist asked the AC Milan striker about one of his former sides from England in Chelsea, but he was quick to remind the reporter that he is still watching Arsenal and they can ‘definitely’ secure Champions League football under Mikel Arteta this season.
Arsenal are sitting top of the Premier League table, despite suffering their first defeat of the Premier League season during their last encounter at Old Trafford.

With both north London clubs spending big this summer and looking to progress, Chelsea also splashed the cash in a crazy fashion, only to sack Tuchel weeks after the window slammed shut.
There is no doubt that Arsenal and Spurs will be looking to overtake Chelsea this season, and given their indifferent start to the new season and the fact that Graham Potter is yet to settle in, then they have every chance.
Either way, when Giroud was at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, he was asked to share his thoughts on Chelsea and this is what he had to say, as he told Sky Sports News (11/09/22 at 12:55 pm)
“It’s part of football,” said Giroud. “It’s sad. I think Thomas (Tuchel) has done a great job for Chelsea and also watching my Gooners. I think it’s going to be another interesting year.
On if Arteta can guide Arsenal to top-four: “Yes, definitely. I hope so.”

CAN ARSENAL FINISH ABOVE CHELSEA?
One thing is for sure, Chelsea will be looking over their shoulder rather than what’s ahead of them because things are a little unsteady at Stamford Bridge.
Both Arsenal and Spurs are riding a wave, which is dangerous for the Blues, because if they don’t get their act together, then they might be the ones missing out on Champions League football this season.
But a lot will depend on how quick their new manager settles in and whether on not he can bring the best out of a pretty expensive group of players.
Either way, for the first time in a very long time, Arsenal fans will be thinking they have the team, they are playing the football and they have the mentality to be the top dogs in London once again.
