Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano has given us an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Milan Skriniar, claiming that the London club are now looking at alternatives.
Unfortunately, it seems as though there’s no chance that Skriniar will be joining Tottenham this month, as Romano branded a deal impossible, before then changing his verdict to unlikely.
“And for Tottenham, it is impossible to go for Skriniar at this moment, so other options could be the solution for Mourinho and for Tottenham in January,” Romano said.
“In January, Skriniar, I won’t say impossible, but I will say really really unlikely.
“Yes, just because Inter will ask for €60 million (£53.5m) and he’s a starter, so that’s why they are also looking at different options, but at the moment there is nothing advanced for Militao.”

It seems as though Skriniar isn’t coming to Tottenham, but it is encouraging to hear that Tottenham are looking at other options.
As we know, one of those options is Eder Militao, but it remains to be seen whether or not Tottenham can strike a deal to bring the Brazilian to north London, as Romano says there’s nothing advanced.
It’s a shame to hear that Skriniar won’t be joining this month as he looks like exactly the type of player they need at the moment, but it will certainly be interesting to watch their centre-half hunt unfold this month.
It’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for any activity from Tottenham on this front for the remainder of the month.
