Ally McCoist has shared on talkSPORT (8:11am, November 12, 2021) how Celtic fan Alan Brazil reacted to Steven Gerrard leaving Ibrox club Rangers for Aston Villa.
What’s the story?
Gerrard has stepped down from his role at Rangers and has moved to Premier League club Villa.
The Gers beat bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title last season.
Rangers are also above Celtic in the league table at the moment.
Gers legend McCoist has said that former Tottenham Hotspur forward Brazil is over the moon to see the back of Gerrard.
Brazil now works as a presenter on talkSPORT and stated in The Sunday Post in July 2017 that he is a red-hot Celtic fan.
What Ally McCoist has said
McCoist said on talkSPORT (8:11am, November 12, 2021): “I spoke to Brazil yesterday, right, and I could feel the smile coming through the line down the way. I have never spoken to him happier than that. He was ecstatic. “

Should Celtic be happy?
Gerrard was superb for Rangers.
The way the Gers won the title last season was simply stunning.
Rangers did not lose a single league game and were very good defensively.
Celtic are now starting to get momentum, with manager Ange Postecoglou putting his stamp on the team.
In our view, Gerrard leaving Rangers could work out in favour of Celtic.
The new manager could take a while to get going, and that could help Celtic in getting past Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table.
