Darren Bent has said on Twitter that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal should make a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix in the January transfer window.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that Felix, who can also operate as a winger or attacking midfielder, has real quality and would add depth to the current Arsenal squad.

The Arsenal-supporting Sky Sports and talkSPORT pundit has said that the Portugal international, who played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, would make the Gunners better.

Arsenal are seven points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table at the moment.

The Gunners are missing Gabriel Jesus at the moment.

The Brazil international striker is injured and is on the sidelines.

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal have held talks with former La Liga champions Atletico over signing the £155,000-a-week (SalarySport) on a loan deal in January.

Felix is struggling for playing time at Atletico at the moment and is also reportedly not happy with the way he is being asked to play.

The Portuguese star has made six starts and seven substitute appearances in La Liga so far this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the process.
