Life is going to be very different and possibly difficult for Liverpool post-Jurgen Klopp.
When the German first announced that he was going to leave at the end of the season, it was gut-wrenching for the supporters to hear.
But one massive positive for all involved is the club’s former transfer guru, Michael Edwards, is heading back into the Anfield boardroom.
Martin Keown questioned whether the Englishman could get Jurgen Klopp to ‘change his mind’ and stay at Liverpool beyond this season, as he told Football Focus.
During his time on Merseyside, Michael Edwards has worked and produced some serious magic.
Whilst it’s never going to happen because the final chapters of Jurgen Klopp’s time at the club are being written, it would be something, and quite incredible, if it did happen.
It doesn’t fill the hole entirely, in truth it never will, but at least Michael Edwards’ return is something for fans to cheer about post their legendary coach leaving.
Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp
“It’s going to be a big hole to fill, isn’t it, Klopp?!” said Keown.
“Maybe he (Edwards) gets Klopp to change his mind. Is it all a wind-up? Does he stay at the end of the season? Say, ‘I was just joking I am just going to stay’.”

The next man through the door
Xabi Alonso’s name has been thrown about the most and it feels like most Liverpool fans want their former midfielder to replace Klopp.
They become even more adamant about having him in when they watch him steamroll the Bundesliga and push towards ending Bayern Munich’s decade dominance at the top.
There will be some who worry that Bayern Munich themselves will look to lure Xabi Alonso towards their direction, especially with Thomas Tuchel leaving at the end of the campaign.
But this is where Edwards works his magic again and ensures the best of the best replaces Klopp to continue the club’s success.
