Alisson Becker gave an honest verdict after Liverpool suffered a brutal 3-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday afternoon, as he was bemused by why his side are struggling to get out of their slump.
The Brazilian No.1, much like any and everyone associated with the club has been left scratching his head after witnessing Jurgen Klopp’s men get torn to shreds by Julen Lopetegui’s side, as they are making a habit of getting battered week in, week out.
After the contest, Alisson decided to pull no punches, as he seems to believe that there is no justification for Liverpool having put such a horror show of a display against Wolves.
Alisson reacts as Liverpool get beaten by Wolves
Since the World Cup, the Reds have suffered heavy defeats to Brentford, Brighton and of course, at the Molineux Stadium as well, shipping 3 goals in each game.

Alisson, who has been a rare highlight for Liverpool this season gave an honest verdict after Wolves made light work of his side on Saturday.
“We are making things hard for ourselves. I don’t know what we need to happen to us to wake up. We come here, say we have to believe in ourselves but we don’t act like that on the pitch or deserve that.”
“We have to put this behind us and take strength from ourselves and families to bounce back. I’m not saying I don’t trust we can’t bounce back. I’m just so disappointed about tonight’s game. We have to keep working”, Alisson told BBC Sport after Liverpool lost 3-0 to Wolves.
The former Roma goalkeeper continued, “Everyone believes they are capable of doing these things it is that you have to fight for that. A game of 90+ minutes, you have to do it consistently for the whole game. We showed today you can get punished for 15 minutes and that’s what happened to us.”
“We have the same players who achieved so many great things at this club and we are not performing well. It’s difficult to say why.”
“Same as the other games, we have no consistency at all through the 90 minutes, focused and doing what we have to do on the pitch fighting”, the £190,000-a-week shotstopper concluded.
All in all, it’s hard to disagree with Alisson, as Liverpool seem to be running out of excuses for consistent shambolic performances, as was on show against Wolves, as Jamie Carragher implied in some senses while criticising both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
