Alexander Volkanovski sends message ahead of Royal Rumble

Alexander Volkanovski addressed Ripley directly in a video message released ahead of the event. The clip was shared by TKO’s official social media account, the parent company of both UFC and WWE.

TKO oversees the two promotions that Volkanovski and Ripley represent as a UFC fighter and WWE Superstar, respectively.

“Just want to wish Rhea Ripley good luck! You’re awesome. Big fan of yours! Can’t wait to watch you in the Royal Rumble. Go get it!”

The message underlined Volkanovski’s admiration for Ripley and his anticipation for her appearance.

Volkanovski also prepares for UFC 325 title fight

The message comes as Volkanovski prepares for his own huge night later the same day. He is set to face Diego Lopez for the UFC Featherweight Championship at UFC 325 in Australia.

Both Volkanovski and Ripley have become major faces for UFC and WWE, respectively, with the latter’s crossover appeal bringing eyes from a widely undiscovered demographic.

Volkanovski has had a similar impact, with his success on social media making him one of the most popular figures in the MMA space.

With both events taking place within hours of each other, the weekend placed added focus on Aussie athletes competing on major stages across UFC and WWE.
