Alex Pereira believes everyone is dealing with the same uncertainties right now.

The UFC light heavyweight champion has still waiting to find out what is next for him, having last stepped into the Octagon for a rematch with Magomed Ankalaev back in October 2025.

After settling the score with a first-round knockout, Pereira wasted no time calling for a jump up to heavyweight and targeting a super-fight with Jon Jones.

Dana White had been resistant to giving Jones another shot in the promotion, but recently surfaced footage added another layer of concern when it appeared to show ‘Bones’ discussing some health issues.

Jones, during a private conversation at a Dirty Boxing event that was later shared online, mentioned that he has severe arthritis and would qualify for a hip replacement.

The former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion addressed the leaked footage and indicated that he still plans to end his MMA career with one last fight.

Pereira spoke about the situation during an appearance on UFC heavyweight Valter Walker’s YouTube channel, saying Jones is far from alone in dealing with ongoing health problems.

‘Poatan’ said: “I think every athlete has chronic injuries, serious injuries.

“If a high-level athlete says something like that, for the history he has, it’s not new to me.”

Alex Pereira hints at UFC return with cryptic post

Dana White has repeatedly shut down talk of a super-fight between Jones and Pereira, including at the White House.

The Brazilian star, however, has not backed off his interest in fighting at the event in Washington D.C., even if Jones is not involved. While there is no confirmation yet, recent signs suggest he may have news to share soon.

‘Poatan’ recently posted a vague message on social media that hinted at something on the horizon.

“1-2-3 and go,” he published on Instagram.
