Boavista winger Alberth Elis has told A Bola that there is ‘nothing on the table’ yet amid claims of talks with West Ham United and Southampton.

Elis joined Boavista from Houston Dynamo last summer, and he enjoyed a fine season in Portugal with eight goals and seven assists.

The 25-year-old attacker, who can play out wide or up front, is now unsurprisingly attracting interest from clubs outside of Portugal.

West Ham and Southampton pursue Elis

A Bola reported earlier this month that West Ham and Southampton had both opened talks to try and bring the Honduran international to England.

A fee of around £8.5million would be needed to sign Elis, whose pace could be a real asset to David Moyes or Ralph Hasenhuttl.

What about Celtic?

Celtic have long been linked with Elis, and A Bola claim that Celtic are still in the mix for Elis, even at such a significant asking price.

Elis would be quite the coup for Celtic, who need big additions this summer in order to chase down Rangers under Ange Postecoglou.

What has Elis said about his future?

Elis has now told A Bola that there is no offer on the table right now, but one of his dreams is to move to England.

That means there is still hope for Celtic in one sense, but little chance of him signing in another, with West Ham and Southampton possibly favourites.

“One dream was Europe, another is England. But only God will tell! There’s nothing on the table,” said Elis.
