Tottenham are set to bolster their squad on deadline day with the acquisition of Spanish right-back Pedro Porro.
The ‘fantastic’ defender has been linked with a move to the North London club for some time now, and it appears that an agreement has finally been reached.
According to Alasdair Gold of Football.London, the deal will actually be an initial loan move with an obligation to buy for £39.5m.
It had been thought that this would be a permanent transfer, but after negotiations hit a snag on Monday morning, it looks like the terms of this deal have now changed.

This type of deal has become increasingly popular in recent years as clubs look to navigate the complex financial regulations surrounding transfers, and Tottenham have already used this method successfully with the signings of Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski.
Spurs have been in need of a new right-back for some time, with Emerson Royal’s form having been very inconsistent over the past few months.
Porro, who currently plays for Sporting CP in Portugal, is highly regarded and looks like a great fit for Antonio Conte’s side.
If everything goes according to plan in the final hours of this transfer window, Porro will join Spurs on loan and will become a permanent Tottenham player in the summer.
Tottenham fans will be hoping that the loan-to-buy deal for Porro proves to be a smart piece of business. If he can hit the ground running and impress in the second-half of the season, then he could end up looking like an absolute bargain by the time Spurs make this move permanent.
Who knows? Perhaps the money saved on a permanent deal today could lead to Spurs making further signings before the deadline.
