Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has provided an update on Tottenham’s reported interest in LA Galaxy right-back Julian Araujo.
The defender, who has been capped once by the USA national team, has been reported as a target for Tottenham this month, but Gold says that is not the case.
Indeed, the journalist claims that Spurs will not be moving for him in this window, but he also claimed that Tottenham have been watching in and he’s one they could move for in the future.
“I get asked ‘oh is this happening, it must be happening, they say it’s in the final stages’ and it’s like ‘no it’s not’,” Gold said.
“You know I saw, Julian Araujo, the 19-year-old right-back from LA Galaxy was one I saw on, when I was just about to settle for the game at Marine. Again, there’s nothing in it.
“It’s a guy they have watched, I understand, Spurs, but ultimately it’s not one for this window, maybe one for the future he’s a very young guy.”

This makes a lot of sense when you think about it logically.
The last position Tottenham need to bolster right now is at right-back, after all, they only signed Matt Doherty in the summer and Serge Aurier is doing a fine job there most weeks.
Money is seemingly tight at Spurs this month, so outlaying anything on a 19-year-old right-back makes very little sense.
Tottenham are right to have Araujo as a player on their radar as he’s already making waves at such a young age, but this one should be left until a later date.
