Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to share some bad news for Leeds and West Ham, regarding their pursuit of Arthur Cabral.

What’s the story?

Well, the Premier League duo now look likely to miss out on the Brazilian striker, after he agreed to join Fiorentina.

It was ESPN Brazil who revealed that Leeds were interested in signing the 23-year-old.

Elsewhere, it was Goal who wrote that West Ham had made contact with FC Basel over a deal for the South American striker.

Now, it seems both Marcelo Bielsa and David Moyes will miss out, as Cabral nears a move to Fiorentina where he will replace Dusan Vlahovic.

Romano believes personal terms have been agreed, and the Brazilian will now undergo a medical in Florence before signing a contract.

FC Basel will receive €14.5m (£12m) plus bonuses for their No.10 and talisman.

In our view, Cabral would’ve been a fantastic signing for Leeds or West Ham.

So far this season, the Campina Grande-born attacker has remarkably scored 27 goals in 31 appearances, while also providing eight assists.

It was even said that Barcelona were interested in his services.

Now, Cabral has the chance to prove himself in a better league, where his price tag will surely soar if he shines in Italy.

£12m really isn’t that much to pay for a Premier League side, so we feel it would’ve been worth Leeds or West Ham taking a chance on the forward.

Nevertheless, the Premier League duo will have to watch on to see how Cabral fares in Serie A.

Hopefully, he doesn’t make them regret their failure to sign him.
