Super-agent Jorge Mendes wants to take Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool after seeing Harvey Elliott thrive under Jurgen Klopp at the Premier League giants, as reported by the Daily Mail.

If you were to view Mino Raiola as the Emperor Palpatine of European football, Mendes would be the Obi-Wan Kenobi – wise, loyal and, for the most part, likeable.

One of the few bonafide super-agents who could be described as a popular presence in footballing circles, there’s a reason why the 55-year-old Iberian has the likes of Ruben Dias, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Ruben Neves on speed-dial.

Mendes has been at the heart of some of football’s biggest and most expensive transfers. His extensive contact book helped transform Wolverhampton Wanderers from Championship also-rans into Europa League quarter-finalists.

One place where Mendes won’t have too many friends, however, is Craven Cottage – especially if he succeeds in adding Lisbon-born Carvalho to his enviable list of clients.

Will Fabio Carvalho leave Fulham for Liverpool?

According to the Daily Mail, Mendes is desperate to get his mitts on arguably the most coveted young talent in the EFL.

And he is already planning to ‘fix up’ a move to Liverpool for the Fulham wonder kid, having played a major role in Diogo Jota’s £40 million Anfield switch in summer 2020.

In Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have an elite developer of young talent, one who made Harvey Elliott a Premier League regular following his move from Fulham to Merseyside.

It’s understood Mendes has contacted La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid regarding a swoop for Carvalho but believes Liverpool are the most interested party at this stage.

The 19-year-old playmaker, who has also been linked with Leeds United and West Ham, turned down the chance to extend a contract that expires at the end of this season, much to the frustration of Fulham coach Marco Silva (Athletic).

Reports in October suggested Southampton were “confident” of sealing a deal for Carvalho, although it seems Mendes has other ideas.
