Argentine midfielder Carlos ‘Charly’ Alcaraz can be signed for around £13 million with his agent admitting Premier League interest amid links with Arsenal, Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur, speaking to Tuttosport.
Back in 2018, Inter Milan won the race to sign a 20-year-old striker by the name of Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club. Flash forward to 2022, and that very same player is now one of the hottest strikers in European football; a major part of the Nerazzuri side who tasted sweet Serie A success under Antonio Conte.
Given the roaring success Martinez has enjoyed at the San Siro, it’s perhaps no surprise to see Inter hot on the trail of another talented youngster rising through the ranks at Racing, in the hope that Alcaraz can emulate Lautaro’s immediate and long-lasting impact on Italian soil.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Wolves like Carlos ‘Charly’ Alcaraz of Racing Club
“I spoke to both clubs (Inter and AC Milan) last summer. I was told they were watching Carlos,” Alcaraz’s agent Sebastian Lopez explains.
“Then, Milan signed Charles De Ketelaere, who was already playing in Europe. Inter have continued to follow the player; (they) and Milan are two top clubs. Inter are particularly interested. Perhaps also because of (former Argentina international) Diego Milito and Lautaro Martinez. But nobody can question the importance of Milan.”
According to Marca, Arsenal, Tottenham and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keeping tabs on Alcaraz; a quicksilver 19-year-old with the acceleration of an Olympic hurdler and the balance of a ballerina. Alcaraz, who can also take a mean free-kick and thrives in a variety of midfield roles, scored nine times in 42 matches for Racing Club during the 2022 season.
“Now, we have an option in England and Portugal,” Lopez adds, while stopping short of naming those Premier League suitors. “But neither Inter nor Milan directors have contacted me recently.
“We are waiting. We’ve been talking to important clubs. Around 15 million euros (could be enough to sign him). Even if the fee could be reduced by adding a sell-on clause for Racing.”
