Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool appear to have missed out on Karim Adeyemi with the striker’s agent claiming that he ‘will move to Dortmund next summer’, via Sport and Tribuna.
With all due respect to Spurs and Liverpool, this looks like a good choice.
At Dortmund, Adeyemi will join forces with some of the best young players in European football, following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, Gio Reyna, Jude Bellingham and the irrepressible Erling Haaland.
Jurgen Klopp’s rampant Liverpool side were one of the leading candidates to secure Adeyemi’s signature, having already snapped up three former Red Bull Salzburg stars in Takumi Minamino, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.
But, regardless of whether the much-admired Haaland stays or goes, Adeyemi will surely find first-team football easier to come by at Dortmund than he would at a side who can’t even guarantee Roberto Firmino a starting role these days.

“If nothing out of the ordinary happens, Adeyemi will move to Dortmund next summer,” said the German international’s agent, Thomas Salomon.
Dortmund are reported to have agreed personal terms with the 19-year-old, though they have not yet committed themselves to meeting the £34 million asking price demanded by Salzburg.
German publication Sport1 claimed that both Tottenham and Newcastle United had expressed an interest too.
Adeyemi, however, reportedly had reservations about joining two clubs who’s form this season leaves a lot to be desired. Unsurprisingly, he was less than enamoured about a Barcelona side mired in mid-table too.
“A few days ago we said ‘no’ definitively to Barca’s proposal,” Salomon adds. “Barca is no longer an option for Karim. The best thing for him is a German club.”
