Moise Kean is set to stay at Juventus with the Serie A giants obligated to sign the Italy international on a permanent basis from Premier League strugglers Everton, agent Rafaela Pimenta tells Gazzetta dello Sport.

After a difficult start to the season, for both player and club, things are suddenly looking up in Turin. Juventus go into the World Cup break on the back of five successive league wins. Kean, in that time, has scored four times, including an eye-catching brace in a 3-0 thrashing of Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio

Suddenly, reports suggesting that Juve were looking to back out of an agreement they made with Everton over the summer – they are obligated to make Kean’s loan deal permanent for £34 million in 2023 – have quietened down somewhat (Calciomercato).

Everton’s forgotten man Moise Kean looks set to join Juventus

“Moise held out in difficult times with the support of those around him,” says Pimenta, who recently inherited the late Mino Raiola’s throne while taking over at the helm of one of world football’s most influential agencies.

“(Kean) will be a long-term protagonist at Juve.”

Italy international Kean, who joined Everton in a £27 million deal in 2019 following an impressive first spell at Juventus, has made only two Premier League appearances since a disappointing debut season at Goodison Park.

The Toffees may still rue their decision to insert an obligation-to-buy clause in Kean’s Juve contract, however. Providing, of course, that the 22-year-old continues his excellent recent form after the World Cup break. The penny appears to have dropped at last; a newly-mature and increasingly-consistent Kean showing signs of living up to his vast potential at last.

“He is far more balanced mentally,” Juventus coach Max Allegri said of Kean after that Lazio triumph. “When you are young, and he is so exuberant, it all gets a bit much.

“He is working hard. He weighs five or six kilograms less than last season, and you can see he has a different mental approach.”

‘A mix of Cavani and Icardi’

Interestingly, Kean turned down a move to Nottingham Forest last summer before returning to Turin. The striker is now in his best form since a loan stint at PSG in 2020/21. Kean scored 17 times in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino in the French capital.

“Kean brings something different,” said ex-Les Bleus ace Jerome Rothen. “He is dynamic. He plays in the centre of the attack but also on the wings. A bit of a mix between (Edinson) Cavani and (Mauro) Icardi, even if he can improve technically.”
