Sebastian Bassong has been training with QPR and witnessed the R’s latest defeat to Bristol City

Queens Park Rangers latest defeat further underlines why manager Steve McClaren must push through a deal for Sebastian Bassong.
The former Norwich City defender has been training with the west Londoners, and although McClaren hasn’t indicated whether he’ll be signed, it’s surely an absolute must for QPR.
Bassong offers an abundance of experience throughout English football, and although he hasn’t played a competitive game since Mach 2017, QPR can benefit massively from the 32-year-old.
After shipping 13 goals in their opening four Championship games, QPR remain rooted to the bottom of the table, and it’s painfully obvious that new defenders are required.

Bassong has represented Cameroon 15 times, and after extensive spells with both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, the centre-back – once fully match-it – would be a smart fit for QPR.
The 6’2″ defender has been a fan favourite at most of his previous club’s, and with QPR’s current plight, any potential deal will likely be met with jubilation from the fans.
