Yesterday, Mika Biereth scored his first two goals for RKC Waalwijk since joining on loan from Arsenal for the 2022/23 campaign – now Auston Trusty has done the same.
Biereth & Trusty shining away from Arsenal
Well, the Denmark Under-19 international scored two second half goals on Friday evening to secure a 3-2 win over Groningen in the Eredivisie, in just his third outing for RKC Waalwijk since leaving Arsenal.
It comes after Biereth scored 12 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions last term.
If that wasn’t enough to impress Mikel Arteta, another loanee in Trusty netted two goals for Birmingham earlier today to seal a 3-0 win in the Championship.
To make his double even more impressive, the 24-year-old is actually a central defender.

The American has been an ever present for Birmingham since joining on a season-long loan, playing every minute of the Championship campaign so far across 13 appearances.
It is Trusty’s first taste of regular senior action since arriving at Arsenal from Colorado Rapids back in January, and he has taken to life in English football like a duck to water.
Arsenal have more gems in addition to Biereth & Trusty
The aforementioned duo aren’t the only ones shining while on loan away from Arsenal.
Folarin Balogun was loaned out to Reims over the summer, and he has since scored six goals in just nine Ligue 1 appearances – more than a certain Lionel Messi, who has five to his name.
The England Under-21 international is also outscoring Alexandre Lacazette’s tally of four goals in France’s top-flight.
Balogun has provided two assists as well, in what has been an outstanding campaign in French football so far.
Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah will be ahead of the England Under-21 international in the pecking order when he eventually returns to north London, but he is certainly doing his chances of action under Arteta no harm with his form for Reims.
