Mikel Arteta has taken the decision to omit Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal’s upcoming mid-season training camp in Dubai.

According to the Telegraph, the Gabon international will remain in north London whilst the rest of the squad head east to the United Arab Emirates for warm-weather training.

Aubameyang has not featured for Arsenal since being stripped of the captaincy in early December after the striker was late for training, his latest off the pitch disciplinary breach.

With reports suggesting that Aubmeyang will be off this January, this latest move to exclude him from Arsenal’s training camp in Dubai could once again be a move to push the striker away from north London.

Indeed, former attacker Emmanuel Adebayor has this week slammed Arsenal for their treatment of Aubameyang via the Metro, with the ex-Tottenham star labelling the Gunners as a club that ‘never knew how to forgive.’

And with the 32-year-old striker set to remain banished from the senior squad, some Arsenal fans are starting to feel sympathy for Aubameyang, who will stay at London Colney whilst Arteta and the rest of the squad travel to Dubai.

With interest from Saudi Arabia and around Europe, Aubameyang’s future looks set to be away from Arsenal, yet despite this, some supporters on social media are fuming that the striker will not travel to Dubai this week.

Indeed, the attacker is still one of Arsenal’s best players, and Aubameyang’s isolation from the squad to some feels like it has run its course.
