Tottenham came within an inch of signing Adama Traore from Wolves in January – but missed out as he joined Barcelona on loan. Now, Adama could help Tottenham sign a £50million-rated Premier League star.

The Spain international has returned to Wolves this summer, after Barcelona decided not to sign the winger permanently. That is despite a permanent clause in his loan – but he failed to score in his 17 appearances.

TeamTalk report that Leeds are considering a move for Adama. It would see their director of football, Victor Orta, reunite with Traore having signed the winger from Barcelona for Middlesbrough during his time on Teesside.

Such a move could now help Tottenham. That is because, The Athletic recently reported that Spurs were one of a number of clubs looking to raid Orta’s side for Raphinha this summer. Barcelona cannot afford the Brazilian.

Adama could help Tottenham sign £50million-rated star

Raphinha is one of the most in-demand players in Premier League football right now. Rated at £50million (90Min), Leeds want the full whack in one instalment – as they look to reimburse that cash on their current squad.

Little surprise Tottenham are keen on bringing him to North London. A teammate of Emerson Royal at international level, the right-back described him as a “phenomenon” earlier this season after a brace against Uruguay.

The TeamTalk report state that Leeds see Adama as a potential replacement for Raphinha – despite concerns over his lack of end product. So, Adama – a player Spurs came so close to signing – could now help Spurs sign another.

If Leeds can agree a deal for Adama, then surely they will ease their tight stronghold on Raphinha’s future – and allow Spurs to make their move. Of course, other clubs could outbid Spurs, but time will tell.
