Scott Brown could soon be reunited with his former Celtic boss Neil Lennon as he emerges as a contender for the Aberdeen job.

That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that Lennon is set to be in the mix to become the new Aberdeen boss.

Aberdeen have chosen to part ways with Stephen Glass less than a year after appointing him.

20 defeats in 41 games as Aberdeen boss ended Glass’s time in charge at Pittodrie, with the Dons now bak in the market for a manager.

It’s suggested that Jack Ross is the favourite for the job after leaving Hibernian, but Lennon appears to be a contender too.

Lennon is expected to be in the frame for the job alongside Ross, Paul Hartley and St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin.

Lennon has been out of work since leaving Celtic in February 2021 and could now end up reuniting withi Brown at Pittodrie.

Brown and Lennon worked together for years at Celtic, with Lennon having two spells as Bhoys manager.

The pair won five league titles together as well as four Scottish Cups and one Scottish League Cup.

If Aberdeen are seeking a reference on Lennon, midfielder Brown – who joined from Celtic last summer – would be on hand to give one.

Lennon praised Brown as ‘incredible’ at Celtic and would surely love to join forces with the midfielder once again.

Brown has also turned to coaching at Aberdeen, and having him work alongside a manager he knows in Lennon makes perfect sense.

Lennon drew interest from Sunderland recently, but it now looks like Aberdeen are the best route back into management for the Northern Irishman.
