Could Leeds United lose star man Kalvin Phillips and replace him with Sheffield United midfielder, Sander Berge this summer? Well, transfer reports indicate that could become a possibility.

It has been well-documented that Manchester City are keen to add Leeds’ hard-hitting midfielder to their ranks this summer, and if he leaves, then the £25 million-rated Berge will be a target.

Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, played alongside Berge during his time at Bramall Lane, when the Blades were in the Premier League, so he knows first-hand what the 24-year-old is like.

When Sheffield United were relegated last summer, there were some who felt that Berge was probably too good to be playing in the Championship – the same would have applied for Phillips if the Whites dropped back down.

Nonetheless, regarding Berge, it isn’t a surprise that Ramdale has dubbed the Leeds transfer target as a ‘Rolls-Royce’ when talking about the midfielder to Sky Sports back in 2021.

“Yes (on Berge being the standout player in training,” said Ramsdale. “Me and Rhian (Brewster) didn’t get too long with him, before he got injured.

“He’s like Rolls-Royce. He moves in an elegant manner.”

CAN LEEDS KEEP PHILLIPS THIS SUMMER?

Leeds have been pretty busy bringing in a few new faces to the club this summer, but the main talking point will be who leaves.

The Elland Road faithful will be worried at the prospect of Phillips heading for the exit door, but there is also talk around their all-action trickster, Raphinha.

In truth, if the Leeds fans had a choice, then they probably would be happy to see Raphinha leave instead of Phillips.

But if both players head for the exit door, then it’s something that will leave a pretty bitter taste in the mouth of everyone associated with the club.
