Thierry Henry has said on Amazon Prime Video (7:51pm, December 2 2021) that Aaron Ramsdale has a long way to go before he can be considered an Arsenal great.
The Arsenal legend made the comments about Ramsdale ahead of the Premier League game against Manchester United.
Henry has said that he has been impressed by the 23-year-old goalkeeper, who cost Arsenal £24 million (The Athletic) in transfer fees in the summer of 2021.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has said that Ramdale could become the number one goalkeeper for Arsenal.
Henry verdict on Ramsdale
Henry said when asked if Ramsdale could be an Arsenal legend: “It’s a long road, it’s a long road. Right now, I have to say, with the two guys I mentioned before, Bukayo Saka and Smith Rowe that really typifies what Arsenal should be, most of the time he has been our Man of the Match. He has been very good for us so far.”
Shearer said: “Yes, without a doubt we are (looking at a future England number one).”

An Arsenal star
Ramsdale has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal.
The 23-year-old has displaced Germany international goalkeeper Bernd Leno from the team.
And he is doing extremely well.
However, we have to agree with Henry on Ramsdale.
In our opinion, it is too early to say that Ramsdale is on his way to beaming an Arsenal legend.
After all, the younger has played only a handful of games for Arsenal.
And he is just 23.
Goalkeepers such as David Seaman played over 400 times for Arsenal.
