Ryan Mason has shared on Instagram that it was a ‘pleasure’ for him to play alongside and coach, Erik Lamela, at Tottenham.

On Monday, Spurs announced on Twitter that after eight years of service, Lamela has left the club to join Spanish side Sevilla.

From scoring Rabona goals in the North London derby to frustrating supporters with his lack of quality in the final third.

It has been some journey for Lamela in North London and a player who was popular with the Spurs players.

Whilst the Spurs fans appreciated the effort he brought to their table, he always divided opinion as to whether the man who was supposed to replace Gareth Bale was good enough for their cause.

Nonetheless, following Tottenham’s call to part ways with Lamela, this is what Mason posted about the playmaker on Instagram.

It seems as though Spurs are going to pay Sevilla a tad over £21 million for Bryan Gil’s talents, according to Sky Sports.

For both parties, it’s a pretty good deal because Spurs get Lamela off their books and replace him with a 20-year-old ready to thrive and shine.

As for Lamela, it will be interesting to see how this next leg of his journey pans out because he has always had serious quality at his feet.

But he has just struggled to showcase it on a more consistent basis.
