Ian Wright was gushing with approval when discussing Manchester United maestro Paul Pogba.

Speaking on his own podcast, Wright showered the Parisian with a stream of praise following another strong international performance.

Pogba played a part in France’s Nations League final success on Sunday, sinking the Spanish Armada in the San Siro.

Although the 28-year-old did not have his most eventful evening in Le Blues colours, he still added a coating of gloss to the glitzy occasion.

A few delicate passes here, some deft touches there; a small slice of what Pogba usually pulls off for France.

“Any time he’s got the ball in that last third with time, it’s going to be something magical,” purred Wright about United’s no.6.

“A pass through the lines or a pass over the top, with any foot, outside of the foot.

“He’s a joy to watch. They used to have player cam; I would love to watch player cam and watch Pogba.”

Pogba watch

At the start of the season, a lens pointed directly at Pogba would’ve made for magical viewing.

Four assists on the Premier League’s opening day against Leeds United had fans and pundits on the periphery of their seats.

None more so than Wright, who said shortly after the Leeds demolition: “Let’s be totally honest, I don’t think I’ve seen him that good.”

Another three assists followed in the subsequent trio of league matches, flinging the Frenchman well above anyone else in the creative department.

United unraveling

However, the set-ups have since dried up for Pogba, coinciding with United’s dip in form.

Just two wins from six has left Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scrabbling around for solutions.

One that included leaving both Cristiano Ronaldo and Pogba on the bench for the last game at Old Trafford, a 1-1 draw with Everton.

If the Red Devils are to mount a serious title challenge, their shiniest stars must play whenever possible.

Of course, this is not always an option because of the congested fixture schedule.

But heavy rotation certainly hampers momentum and rhythm, something United cannot afford to lose right now.
