New Manchester United minority owner Jim Ratcliffe wants to sign Harry Kane in the summer transfer window, and Thierry Henry’s verdict on the former Tottenham Hotspur striker is surely going to please the Old Trafford faithful.
Manchester United are on the hunt for a new striker in the summer transfer window and are keen on bringing Harry Kane back to the Premier League.
Manchester United want to sign Harry Kane
Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 for £86 million (BBC Sport).
HITC reported last week that United want to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window and have “a concrete interest” in Kane.
Minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are already assessing what the Red Devils need to do at the end of the season to build a competitive team, and HITC has been told that Kane is seen as the ideal option.
Thierry Henry’s verdict
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been speaking about Kane on Sky Sports, and the Premier League great has noted how well he is doing at Bayern and how complete a striker he is.
Henry told Sky Sports, as transcribed by The Daily Mail: “The evolution of Harry Kane has been outstanding. This is why when I mentioned that goals times don’t show you to win titles but it doesn’t matter.
“Look at how calm he is, little flick it’s everything that it does is calm he is composed he sees, can I have to take technique as the technique and you can name any, these guys can score any goal any pass coming in midfield and play he is already gone.

“When I went to see Kane I said to him, ‘Do you want to add assists to your game?’ He said, ‘To be honest I’m not happy with my assists and I should do more’. And you know what I have respect for people that talk and back it up.
“And you can see I mean the way he plays is just I mean when we talk about complete striker for me I said it so many times we’re talking about Patrick Kluivert was complete as a striker you played against him we talked about him. I’m not saying he was the best striker in history but complete striker could do it all. Kane can do it all.
“He can come in midfield, ping a ball to the winger, come get the ball off the holding midfielder play through the lines. The way Kane is playing right now is a complete striker.”
Kane is a Premier League legend, and Teddy Sheringham rates him highly. He has been doing extremely well at Bayern. True, the Bavarian giants are having a torrid campaign, but that should take nothing away from how good the 30-year-old striker has been.
The England international striker has scored 27 goals and given five assists in 24 Bundesliga matches this season. The former Spurs star scored four goals and provided three assists in seven UEFA Champions League games this campaign.
During his time in the Premier League, Kane scored 213 goals and gave 46 assists in 320 appearances. I believe that the striker would be a superb signing for United in the summer transfer window.
