Teddy Sheringham has said that Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United should have signed Declan Rice before he joined Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Harry Kane before he left Tottenham Hotspur.

The former United striker has outlined what would make Kane and Rice perfect for the Red Devils.

So, what has Teddy Sheringham said about Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Manchester United? Let’s take a look.

Teddy Sheringham a fan of Harry Kane

Well, Teddy Sheringham has been speaking about the current situation of Manchester United, and the ex-Red Devils and Tottenham Hotspur striker thinks that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners should have signed Harry Kane and Declan Rice.

Arsenal signed England international midfielder Rice from West Ham United in the summer of 2023.

Bayern Munich signed England international striker Kane from Tottenham in the summer of 2023 for £86 million (BBC Sport).

Sheringham said on talkSPORT (9:15 am, March 1, 2024), as transcribed by TBR: “The problem for Man United for me is the leadership qualities. You look at the players who were available in the summer. For me Harry Kane and Declan Rice.

“Years ago under Fergie they would have been snapped up. At least they would have been in for those type of players. This summer they weren’t even in for the players and that was the disturbing thing for me.

“Once you get players like Kane and Rice playing the game professionally week in, week out, leading by example, other players follow. At the moment you have players at Man United who are looking after themselves rather than each other.”

Manchester United want to sign Harry Kane in 2024 summer

Well, Manchester United may have missed out on the signing of Harry Kane in the summer of 2023, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are very keen on bringing him to Old Trafford in the summer of 2024.

HITC reported this week that United want to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window and have “a concrete interest” in Kane.

Minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are already assessing what United need to do in the summer of 2024 to build a competitive team, and HITC has been told that Kane is seen as the ideal option.

Kane is one of the best strikers on the planet and is world class. He scored 213 goals and gave 46 assists in 320 appearances in the Premier League.

Since his move to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, Kane has scored 27 goals and given five assists in 23 Bundesliga matches and has scored four goals and provided three assists in seven UEFA Champions League games.
