Crystal Palace and Southampton target Antoine Semenyo is now heading to Bournemouth for a medical.
However, there is a glimmer of hope for the south Londoners.
What’s the story?
Well, Semenyo is pencilled in for a medical with Bournemouth after the Cherries agreed a £9m fee with Bristol City – according to Sky Sports.
However, Crystal Palace are being offered the chance to match that offer – according to Bristol Live – as the Ghana international would personally prefer a move to London.
Therefore, the onus is now on the Eagles to bid £9m for Semenyo.
Southampton are also in contention to sign the 23-year-old but have yet to firm up their interest with anything other than an initial enquiry, as detailed by the Daily Mail.

Semenyo’s future is up in the air with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, although The Athletic believe Bristol City have the option to extend his terms by a further 12 months.
That same story from The Athletic states that Bournemouth have already agreed personal terms with the Bristol City No.11 ahead of a move to the south coast, so it feels as if Crystal Palace need to act very quickly.
Interest from the Premier League in Semenyo comes after he scored seven goals and provided two assists in his first 26 appearances for Bristol City so far this season.
Crystal Palace must match £9m Semenyo bid
In our view, Crystal Palace would be fools not to match Bournemouth’s £9m bid for Semenyo.
That really isn’t a lot of money for a Premier League side nowadays, and given the fact Patrick Vieira regularly uses Jordan Ayew in his starting XI, the south Londoners could certainly use another forward – with all due respect.
At the age of just 23, Semenyo could be worth over £30m in no time if he does well in the Premier League, and even if he struggles, Crystal Palace will surely be able to make their money back, so a £9m investment is worth the risk.
