Francesco Guidolin’s side are hoping to strike a temporary deal for the West Ham United striker – despite him being on the other side of the world – a report claims.
According to Wednesday’s Sun newspaper (page 52), the 26-year-old could still agree terms from South America, where he is currently on World Cup qualifying duty with Ecuador.
Valencia has been pushed down the pecking order by new arrivals Jonathan Calleri and Simone Zaza at the London Stadium.

The Aston Villa striker is the subject of a bid from the Premier League new boys, who awoke from their slumber to sign three players on Tuesday – according to Wednesday’s Sun newspaper (page 52).
The report claims Mike Phelan’s side face competition from Ayew’s former club Marseille, however the Ghanaian is reportedly keen to play in the Premier League.
It adds that another Aston Villa attacker, teenager Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, is being sent to Coventry City on loan.

Pocognoli signed for West Brom two summers ago but has featured just once in the league since the arrival of Tony Pulis as manager on New Year’s Day 2015.
The Black Country club are listed as 4/1 second favourites by Sky Bet to be the Premier League’s busiest club on Wednesday.
