Aston Villa likely to make improved bid for Jordan Rhodes
Middlesbrough’s Jordan Rhodes
According to the Daily Mirror’s live transfer feed (31st January 2017; 06:58), Aston Villa are likely to use the money that they are about to make in player sales today to fund an improved bid for Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes.
The Mirror reports that both Ashley Westwood and Jordan Ayew are about to swap Villa Park for the Premier League, with the pair joining Burnley and Swansea City respectively, while Neil Taylor is moving to Villa as part of the Ayew deal.

That will give Steve Bruce additional funds to bolster his squad in the final hours of the window, and the Mirror suggests that those funds could be used to finally bring Rhodes to the club.
Crystal Palace targeting Liverpool defender and Championship striker
It appears that it could be a very busy day for Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce as two players have been linked with a deadline day switch to Selhurst Park.
According to Sky Sports’ live transfer feed (31st January 2017; 06:40), the Eagles are hoping to take advantage of West Ham’s decision to pull out of the race to sign Brentford striker Scott Hogan.
Sky Sports suggests that Aston Villa are also keen, but that Palace have made an initial enquiry for the 24-year-old, who has been in stunning form in the Championship this season.
Mamadou Sakho
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are also hoping to hand Mamadou Sakho a way out of Liverpool before the deadline as Allardyce looks to bolster his defensive ranks, according to the Daily Mail.
Sakho is free to leave Merseyside but the Reds want to try and sell him permanently in a deal worth around £20 million, the Mail reports.
Though the Mail does not specify whether Palace want to sign the centre-back permanently or on loan, the fact that the hours are ticking down may give the Eagles the chance to negotiate the kind of move they want as it appears that Liverpool are ready to get him off their books.
Hull City want Andrea Rannochia
Sky Sports’ live transfer feed (31st January 2017; 06:56) is also suggesting that Hull City are closing in on a deal that would see Andrea Rannochia join the Tigers on loan.
Report: Newcastle among clubs who have missed out on Leeds-bound winger Alfonso Pedraza
According to Sky Sports, the Inter Milan defender has already flown to England to undergo a medical before completing his switch.
Marco Silva will surely be hoping that it is not a quiet deadline day at the KCOM Stadium given their current position in the top flight.
