Liverpool and Chelsea target Aurelien Tchouameni has reportedly picked his next club this summer, with the midfielder now eyeing a move to Real Madrid.
According to AS, the France international has decided on a transfer to the La Liga giants following a breakout season in Ligue 1, with Tchouameni’s form catching the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
However, despite Premier League interest from the likes of Liverpool and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, Tchouameni is favouring a move to Madrid, with AS Monaco setting a €100m (£83m) price tag for the midfielder this summer as reported by Foot Mercato.
Tchouameni has been one of the best midfielders in France this season and has exploded onto the scene as one of the most exciting young players in Europe, with Liverpool and Chelsea eyeing the 22-year-old in late 2021.
But, it now appears that Madrid will be the ones to sign Tchouameni this summer, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side keen on lowering the age of their central midfield with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos entering their twilight years.
With fellow France international Eduoard Camavinga already on their books, Tchouameni makes a lot of sense for Madrid given his qualities in the midfield and his potential, much to the dismay of Liverpool and Chelsea.
Tchouameni’s Madrid decision is massive for Liverpool and Chelsea

Tchouameni’s form this season has made him one of the most wanted midfielders in Europe, and his decision to choose Madrid is a massive blow for the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.
Indeed, the two Premier League giants would have felt confident in their abilities to lure the Frenchman to England, though with Madrid now the favourites to sign Tchouameni, Liverpool and Chelsea’s chance to land the midfielder seems all but vanished.
