Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb have reported that Spezia ‘rejected’ offers from 5 clubs before Arsenal came calling for Jakub Kiwior, as a transfer now seems all but confirmed.

While an announcement is expected imminently, it’s clear to see that the 22-year-old has signed for the Gunners, as he was in attendance at the Emirates Stadium to watch the hosts beat Manchester United 3-2 on Sunday.

It’s clear that the Arsenal-bound sensation, Jakub Kiwior is one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe, considering 5 clubs were keen on his signature.

It is expected that the youngster is set to be a backup option to Gabriel Magalhaes, considering he is left-footed himself.

Until the end of the 2022/2023 season, it is unlikely that the Polish international, dubbed as an ‘extraordinary talent’ by Robert Lewandowski will become a regular starter.

After all, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have formed one of the finest defensive pairings in the Premier League this campaign.

However, the fact that a number of top sides were interested in the elegant defender indicates that the football world is aware of his superstar potential.

According to a report by Tuttomercatoweb, 5 European clubs were queued up to sign Arsenal-bound Jakub Kiwior, but Spezia rejected all offers.

Ultimately, the £26.4 million fee reportedly shelled out by Arteta and Co. seems to have sealed the deal.

Borussia Dortmund, on the other hand had launched a bid of £19.3 million for the defensive talent.

Other top sides like Atletico Madrid, Leicester City and Brentford had also put forward their offers, which were turned down by Spezia.

One name remains unnamed, but the report does mentioned that it was 5 sides in total.

Furthermore, a number of top teams in Italy were also assessing Kiwior’s displays.

While 5 big clubs in European football were keen on Jakub Kiwior, it seems the Serie A side’s head turned only when Arsenal presented their proposal, which was considered as the ‘right offer.’
