In September last year, Barcelona goalscorer Robert Lewandowski praised Jakub Kiwior, who looks set to sign for Arsenal from Spezia in January.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has reported on Friday that Mikel Arteta and Co. are ‘closing in’ on a £17.5 million deal (€20 million) for the Polish centre-back.
Romano has also claimed that the deal is ‘advanced’, and it could be sealed ‘soon.’
Well, if one of the greatest strikers of all time in Robert Lewandowski rates Jakub Kiwior as highly as he does, Arsenal could have some player on their hands.
One imagines that aside from the 22-year-old’s immense potential, one of the other reasons he has been brought in is as a direct alternative to Gabriel Magalhaes.
Despite Gabriel’s early-season struggles in terms of form, he maintained his place in the XI, as Mikel Arteta seems to have a preference for pairing a right-footer with a left-footer in defence.
Furthermore, the Gunners have a rare chance of becoming Premier League champions, sitting 5 points clear of Manchester City with one game in hand.
As a result, the imminent arrivals of Leandro Trossard and now, the Spezia defender indicate that the club are planning to do all they can to win the title.
Robert Lewandowski is a fan of Arsenal-linked starlet Jakub Kiwior

Back in September 2022, Robert Lewandowski expressed his admiration for fellow countryman, Jakub Kiwior, who could now be headed to Arsenal in January.
“I noticed him [Jakub Kiwior] in the warm-up before the game and wondered who he was.”
“Then, I saw him in the game and I realised that he is an extraordinary player. He has enormous potential”, the 34-year-old was quoted saying by Sempre Milan.
Arsenal fans should be delighted by this response about Jakub Kiwior, because if there’s anyone in the game that knows a thing or two about facing elite defenders, it is Robert Lewandowski.
