Tottenham Hotspur’s short FA Cup run was ended by Manchester City on Friday night and Cristian Romero has now sent a message to fans following their exit.
A late Nathan Ake goal ended up sending Pep Guardiola’s side into the fifth round after a toothless performance from Ange Postecoglou’s team.
Cristian Romero took to Instagram in the aftermath of the match to talk to Tottenham’s fans.

There was always a feeling that this season was going to be a year of transition for Spurs.
After such a difficult campaign under Antonio Conte, they needed a complete reset under Ange Postecoglou.
What they’ve experienced has been nothing short of miraculous and it would be a surprise if they didn’t qualify for next season’s Champions League.
That’s despite all the injuries they’ve suffered and losing star players Son Heung-min, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr to major tournaments this month.
However, Spurs might be disappointed with how they performed in the cup competitions this year.
Romero has now sent a message to Tottenham’s fans after they limped out of the FA Cup against Manchester City.
Cup performances not good enough from Spurs
Speaking on social media, Romero said: “A defeat that hurts but that forces us to get up as always and keep trying, this is what it is all about.
“I have no doubt that we are finally all going in the right direction together.
“Let’s keep it up and thank you for always supporting us. we will come back stronger @spursofficial.”
Man City headed into Friday’s match with an awful record at Tottenham’s new stadium, having failed to score a goal on each of their previous visits.
However, the £42m centre-back nor any of his teammates could stop Ake from pouncing on a poor punch from goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
This follows Tottenham’s exit in the Carabao Cup to Fulham in the second round of that competition on penalties.
Postecoglou heavily rotated that day and was left to rue arguably the club’s best chance of ending their wait for silverware.
These are lessons that the Australian will quickly learn although faith among Spurs fans is the highest it’s been for years given the positive way his side now plays.
Spurs still looking to improve on and off the pitch
It’s been a very quiet January transfer window in the Premier League and Tottenham have been one of the most active teams.
