Reports from Germany suggest that one star liked by Liverpool and Manchester United could leave his title-winning club this summer.
Arne Slot is yet to make his first signing as Reds boss after replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield hot seat.
But new arrivals are expected under the Dutchman as he looks to make his own mark on this Liverpool squad.
One area that Liverpool could look to improve this summer is their defensive department with the Merseyside club linked with Crystal Palace and England star Marc Guehi.
HITC understands that Liverpool also like Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong and the Reds sent scouts to watch the Bundesliga champions in action last season.
However, their interest in the 23-year-old wing-back cooled because of the impressive progress of Conor Bradley.
Manchester United are also admirers of Frimpong but HITC understands that a new right-back is not a priority for Erik ten Hag‘s side unless Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves.

German media gives Jeremie Frimpong 50% chance of leaving
Despite going unbeaten with Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga last season, rumours of Frimpong leaving this summer continue to circulate.
German outlet Bild have given their verdict on Frimpong’s future and believe he has a 50 percent chance of leaving the club this summer.
The report added: “The Dutchman’s €40million exit clause (£33million) expires this week.
“After that, the transfer fee is freely negotiable. If he really leaves, then it will only be to a world-class club. Liverpool was already under discussion.”
They finalise the report by adding that Frimpong has a “50%” chance of not being in the Bundesliga after the summer transfer window.
Liverpool could reignite Jeremie Frimpong interest
If Frimpong’s release clause expires before he secures a move away from Germany, then Liverpool would be free to discuss a lower fee.

It could come down to Arne Slot’s plans for Trent Alexander-Arnold – if the Reds boss wants to push him into midfield then reinforcements at right-back may be needed.
Frimpong certainly showed last season that he is one of the best in the world in his position with 14 goals and 12 assists for Leverkusen across all competitions.
