Aaron Ramsdale will wake up to a lot of plaudits this morning after his latest Arsenal performance – and rightly so.
On Saturday, he produced a goalkeeping masterclass in the Gunners’ 2-0 win at Leicester City.
Ramsdale strung together a series of truly world-class saves to keep out Brendan Rodgers’s side.
Even Bernd Leno on the bench cracked a wry smile in the immediate aftermath of one Ramsdale save, the James Maddison free kick he tipped on to the bar.
There was a look of resignation on the German face and such a performance might’ve just convinced Leno that he needs to leave in January.

If he was uncertain about what the future held for him before Saturday, now he must be certain that he won’t be playing under Mikel Arteta in a Premier League game anytime soon.
The former Sheffield United goalkeeper has the gloves for the long term and the longer Leno stays, the more he’s simply going to warm the bench.
It’s a shame because on his day, the former Leverkusen stopper is also a very fine option between the sticks.
But Arsenal’s signing of Ramsdale in a £30 million deal this past summer indicated that Arteta and Edu wanted better, though.
And judging by the Englishman’s display yesterday, that’s precisely what they found.
And Leno knows it.
