Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has confirmed that he will be staying at the club beyond the transfer deadline.
Tottenham are expected to be quiet on transfer deadline day with Ange Postecoglou outlining that signings look unlikely.
That doesn’t entirely rule out departures though and Spurs may be fielding offers for some players, especially youngsters who could go out on loan.
Then there is midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has been in mentioned in the rumour mill for months now.
The Dane isn’t a nailed-on starter at Tottenham this season and speculation has surrounded his future in North London.

HITC Football understands that Tottenham were open to letting Hojbjerg leave the club this month.
Tottenham were clear though – there had to be a permanent element in the deal, so a loan move would have had to include an obligation to buy.
Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Juventus all showed an interest in signing Hojbjerg earlier in the window but none of them offered the permanent obligation.
The 28-year-old has now commented on his situation after coming off the bench in the 3-2 win over Brentford on Wednesday night.
Hojbjerg’s lawyer Lars Halgreen suggested earlier this week that the midfielder would be staying at Tottenham rather than leaving before the deadline.
Højbjerg has now confirmed Halgreen’s claims whilst joking that he has to listen when his lawyer makes a decision on his future.
“When the lawyer says it, I think we have to listen! So, yeah I can confirm that,” said Hojbjerg.
Hojbjerg feels that he can ‘definitely’ hope Tottenham this season even if he has been playing a reduced role this term, as quoted by The Athletic.
“I definitely feel I can help the team,” he said, when asked about his role for the rest of the campaign. The key is that we are playing for something. I always said in the past like I say now, what drives me is the purpose of fighting for something and I definitely feel that Tottenham is fighting for something,” he added.
We would still predict that Hojbjerg is likely to move on at the end of the season given that his contract ends in 2025 and he is having to sit on the bench at Tottenham.
Spurs may have wanted to cash in this month but Hojbjerg will now see out the season at Tottenham and maybe hope to prove that he should be kept around for the long term.
