Indeed, Arsenal’s lack of central midfield depth beyond Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey once again reared its ugly head against Southampton, and for supporters, a player like Torreira would have been perfect for this weekend’s fixture.
The Uruguayan midfielder has been exceptional for Fiorentina this season, and with the midfielder set to leave Arsenal this summer under the orders of Arteta, the Basque coach looks to have got another transfer decision painfully wrong for the north London side.
