Alvaro Morata has opened the door to a potential move to Arsenal when discussing his future, as quoted by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. Reports claim the Gunners are close to completing a £25million move.
That is according to Spanish newspaper SPORT. They claim that 29-year-old Morata is set to leave Juventus after a two-year loan spell with the Old Lady, his second spell in Turin. Juve are unwilling to sign him permanently.
That is, despite having a pre-agreed £25million clause in the loan. SPORT say Arsenal are willing to pay the fee, and are now ‘close’ to a deal. But more-recent reports says that Morata himself, is unconvinced by Arsenal.
Now, Romano has reported that Morata has kept the door open to a move to Arsenal – or indeed, another club. He quoted the Spanish striker as saying that numerous clubs are after his signature this summer.

Morata is a good striker. But does he improve what Arsenal already have, in Eddie Nketiah? Morata turns 30 in October, while Nketiah is just getting started and moreover, is a Hale End academy product.
The Spaniard struggled last time he was in the Premier League, scoring just 24 goals in 72 Chelsea appearances. Arsenal need a striker that is better on English soil, and Nketiah could be if given the chance.
But their first priority should be bringing Gabriel Jesus to the club from Manchester City. Even Gabriel, the Arsenal defender, thinks he would be a good signing for Arsenal. Morata is an option, but Jesus should be first choice.
