Reported Liverpool target Franck Kessie is a man very much out of form at the moment.
AC Milan moved joint top of Serie A last night but the 24-year-old was axed from the first XI due to his performances as of late.
Even after the transfer window shut, Kessie continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool and it was reported that the Premier League giants had held talks with the Italian outfit on September 15.
Last weekend, Kessie started the 1-1 draw with Juventus but struggled in a big way, prompting some Milan fans to suggest that the Ivorian midfielder – who’s out of contract at San Siro next summer – was already thinking about leaving the club.
He came on with 10 minutes remaining last night, replacing goalscorer Brahim Diaz, as the hosts beat Venezia 2-0.
Prolific
Despite his form, Kessie, who cost £24 million in 2017, is a quality player and Liverpool fans would love him.
In fact, he might be the only midfielder at the club who can bring a goalscoring element to Klopp’s team, having netted 13 goals for the Serie A giants last season.
No midfielder at Liverpool is pulling anywhere close to those numbers in the goals department and considering he’d be free next summer, this could be an absolute steal if Klopp and Michael Edwards pull it off.
