Arsenal and Liverpool might be going after the same player soon.

Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace is linked to both Premier League outfits, with Calciomercato reporting on the Merseysiders’ interest in October.

The Ivory Coast international is out of contract next summer, meaning Arsenal or Liverpool could potentially sign him for free at the end of this season.

And whisper it, but the Gunners – who according to 90 Min are keen – might be favourites.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are seven points adrift in the race for a Champions League qualification spot.

And with Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz out until well into 2023, their Premier League form could get even worse once domestic football resumes.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are top of the Premier League, with an eight-point cushion in the top four.

According to Team Talk on Saturday, Zaha harbours ambitions to play Champions League football in something which could influence his decision on who to join.

And with Arsenal a lot more likely than the Reds to be competing in Europe’s elite competition next season at the moment, well the North Londoners may have the edge of Liverpool in this race.

A boyhood Gooner, Zaha earns £130,000 per week [Spotrac] and might even command bigger wages at his next club, if he moves as a free transfer.

But the 29-year-old – labelled ‘unbelievable‘ by Ian Wright – has six goals and two assists in 13 Premier League outings this season.

He has been exceptional for the most part and Arsenal should absolutely fancy their chances of getting him.
