Toward the end of the summer, there was talk around Arsenal signing a mystery winger.
It was reported heavily that the Gunners wanted to sign a wide player following the departure of Nicolas Pepe on loan to Nice.
There were a number of players linked, like Cody Gakpo [The Mirror] and Yeremy Pino.
In the end, Arsenal didn’t sign anyone but they might be kicking themselves that they didn’t push the boat out to sign Gakpo.

That’s because the PSV Eindhoven attacker is having an insane season and we’re still only in October.
According to Transfermarkt, Gakpo, linked with Leeds United this week, has 23 goal involvements in only 16 appearances across all competitions this season.
The 23-year-old winger has 13 goals and 10 assists so far and, based on this form, he’s only going to continue stacking up the numbers at a ferocious rate.
Problem is, the higher he climbs, the more difficult it could prove for Arsenal to sign him.
If Gakpo continues as he is and has a stellar World Cup with the Netherlands, don’t be surprised if Europe’s elite start taking a major interest in the player.
And if that happens, well the North Londoners might’ve missed their one and only shot during the summer.
