Memphis Depay has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, but the forward reportedly wants to stay at Barcelona.

90min reported this month that Depay has been offered to Newcastle.
Sport reported on June 24 that Arsenal are interested in securing the services of the former Manchester United forward, who earns £82,000-a-week (Goal) salary at Barcelona.
Forward tells Barcelona teammates he wants to stay
Sport have now reported that Depay has told Barcelona teammates in the dressing room that he wants to stay at Camp Nou and is ready to fight for his place in Xavi’s starting lineup.
Barcelona reportedly want to sell the former Manchester United forward and are willing to accept €20 million (£16.80 million) in transfer fees for the 28-year-old.
The La Liga giants signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in the January transfer window and have brought in Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski already this summer.
So, Depay, who can operate as a centre-forward or as out wide, would struggle for playing time at Barcelona this season.
However, the forward wants to stay, according to Sport, despite interest from Arsenal and Newcastle.
Better to leave now
Now, we can understand why any player would want to stay at Barcelona.
After all, they are one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world.
However, if Barcelona do not want him and Newcastle and Arsenal do, then, in our opinion, Depay should seriously consider a move.
